Gardenia House of Music was founded by Bianca Hirschfeld, a passionate Singing and Piano teacher based in Melbourne's south-eastern suburb of Gardenvale. Bianca is known for her informed, personalised approach, creating lessons that are engaging, encouraging, and tailored to each student's individual goals, learning style, and musical interests.
Bianca holds a Bachelor of Music and is currently completing a Master of Teaching (Secondary), specialising in Music, with expected completion in June 2027. Her lessons are shaped by both her academic training and professional performance experience as one half of the Melbourne-based duo, Mon & B. By combining her educational knowledge with first-hand experience in the music industry, Bianca creates lessons that are both inspiring and practical, helping students build skills that last a lifetime.
Bianca believes that understanding the language of music is just as important as playing or singing it. Rather than relying on memorisation alone, she teaches music theory in a simple, visual, and engaging way, removing the overwhelm that many students experience. Through a combination of music theory, ear training, and visual learning strategies, students develop a deeper understanding of the notes they are singing and playing, allowing them to become more confident and independent musicians.
Ear training is a key part of Bianca's teaching approach. Students learn to recognise melodies, harmonies, rhythms, chords, and musical patterns by listening. As their ears become more developed, they are able to learn songs more quickly, perform with greater confidence, play alongside other musicians, and begin to improvise naturally. By building these strong musical foundations, students gain the skills and understanding to fully immerse themselves in their love of music and continue learning long after each lesson.
Practice Routine and Motivational Tools:
Bianca understands that fitting practice into a busy schedule isn't always easy. That's why every student receives a personalised practice plan, designed to be realistic, manageable, and tailored to their individual goals. By creating achievable routines, students are able to build consistency and enjoy steady progress between lessons.
